CHICAGO, Ill. --- Illinois Institute of Technology saw its 2022 men's tennis season draw to a close Friday with a 5-0 loss to regional host University of Chicago in an NCAA Division III Championship second-round match at the Stagg Tennis Courts.
The Scarlet Hawks (12-9) faced an early deficit after suffering an 8-0 loss on court three and an 8-1 loss on court one. Illinois Tech's best opportunity at a point in doubles came on court two where Davis Housman and Huy Ngo were edged 8-3 by Biren reddy and Andrei Leonov.
Switching to singles play, the Maroons (17-1) quickly extended their lead to 4-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6. The final point came at No. 3 as Chicago's Sachin Das topped Nabil Fawaz, 6-1, 6-0.
